Best and Most Famous Bollywood villainous characters
1. Amresh Puri : Mogambo
“Mogambo khush hua” isn’t this the first line that comes to our mind when we hear the name, “Mogambo”? Well, this versatile villain character of the 1986″Mr. India” movie was played by the Bollywood actor, Amresh Puri and this role is still remembered as the most popular villain of Bollywood.
The signature dialogues continue to be popular even today, and even in fancy shows, people are seen imitating Mogambo, his actions, the typical style of tapping the crystal ball on the throne’s arm rest, the exact costumes, etc.

2. Amjad Khan : Gabbar Singh
Don’t we often hear, “Ab Tera kya hoga Kalia” when we are in an inescapable situation? 3. Gulshan Grover : Hera Pheri
Gulshan Grover is often seen in different roles in different movies, however not many people would be aware that Bollywood has given him the title, “Bad Man” of Bollywood. He has played versatile roles, however one of his popular villainous roles is that of Kabira popular as “Pasha” in the 2000 released movie, Hera Pheri.
He played the role of the leader of a kidnapping gang, and kidnapped the granddaughter of a rich businessman, later asking for a hefty sum in return. One of his famous dialogues from the movie that focuses on his strong fearsome personality as the character is, “Kabira kaun hai? Kabira khud maut hai!!”
Other such roles played by Grover include, “Tyagi” in Mohra, Laxman in Lajja etc.

4. Saif Ali Khan: Tanhaji : The Unsung Warrior
If you love watching historical Bollywood films you must have definitely watched the 2020 film, Tanhaji : The Unsung Warrior. In the film, the antagonistic character of Udaybhan was played by Saif Ali Khan, whose role was to defend the Kondhana fort, as a representative of the Mughals.
His character was a mixture of different traits such as ruthlessness, passion, strength etc. Saif Ali Khan is a versatile actor, and this role received alot of love from the audience as well, as it added a sense of depth to the film. He is in obsession with the beautiful Queen Padmavati, and attacks her kingdom, Chittor just to capture her. The character traits of him included, manipulation, ambition, ruthlessness, cruelty, etc.
Ranveer is a versatile actor, and his role as Khilji was one of the most standout performances in his career. His famous dialogues included, “Sultan alauddin khilji, Delhi ki deewaron se ghira hua hai.”

6. John Abraham : Dhoom
John Abraham played an antagonistic role, of Kabir Ahlawat in the 2004 film, Dhoom. He played the role of a gang leader, of a group of people who targeted and looted high profile locations on their motorcycles. He was seen in several action sequences of the film, executing heists.
This role is a significant one in his career, and the famous dialogues of his role included, “Bande Hain hum uske, humpe kiska zor? Umeedon ke Suraj, nikle chaaron aur”. Other negative shade roles played by John include, Kabir Malhotra in Race 2, Viraj Sharma in “Force” and Jim in Pathaan.
7. Hrithik Roshan : Vikram Vedha
After playing many innocent characters in Bollywood, Hrithik stepped out of the genre and played a villainous role of Vedha, in the film Vikram Vedha, which was also praised a lot by the public.

8. Sanjay Dutt : Agneepath
Sanjay Dutt, popular as “Sanju Baba” in Bollywood is known for his versatile roles and acting skills. One of his popular villainous roles, is that of Kancha Cheena in Agneepath of 2012. This role of Sanjay Dutt , led to a commercial success of the film, at the box office.
The film portrayed him as a sinister, who scared both his enemies and associates. In the film, he took control of the Mandwa village and the drug trades there. Ghayal is a 1990 Bollywood movie, the plot of which is about Ajay Mehra, a journalist. He was framed for an uncommitted crime, and later he took the matter in his hands exposing the corrupt activities of Balwant Singh, the rebellious role played by Sunny Deol.
10. Aamir Khan : Fanaa
Fanaa is a popular Bollywood movie released in 2006, that revolves around the love story between Zooni a Kashmiri girl, and Rehan a tour guide. In the movie, Aamir Khan plays the role of Rehan Qadri who is a flirtatious Delhi tour guide. His character is portrayed as a villainous one along with dual identity, that of a carefree romantic individual and a member of a terrorist organisation that aims to destabilize the Indian Government.
