This year is a lucky one for all the spy action web series lovers, as both Hollywood and Bollywood are ready with the best of their movies belonging to this genre. One of such movies by Bollywood, is the upcoming release “Citadel: Honey Bunny” set to release on 7th November 2024, directed by Raj & DK. This series follows original version of “Citadel” series, included Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and was released in 2023.
Story
This duo of stuntman Bunny and struggling actress Honey is going to shock you a lot on screen. While they step into a dangerous world full of action, espionage, betrayal, and peril, it turns out to be like a thorn in their side. How they handle all these troubles is going to be quite amazing.
The most important point to note is that when their past lives collide with their present after many years, it will be quite interesting for us to see how their lives take a turn. To raise the excitement meter even further, their daughter Nadia is also involved. After being apart for a long time, Bunny and Honey reunite to protect their daughter and take a stand together.

The TV series written by Raj & DK and Sita R. Menon, stars the very famous Bollywood face Varun Dhawan as Bunny, a spy, Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female lead Honey, along with Emma Canning, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Sikander Kher, Kay Kay Menon and other popular faces.
Samantha was skeptical about herself playing this role, full of action as she says in an interview, “I never would have imagined that I would do action. But today, for me, being at this event is already such a victory because, until the last moment, I didn’t think I could do it.”
However, her incredible and strong action in the trailer, speaks completely the opposite and even Varun Dhawan appreciated her dedication and performance, as his preparation physically was comparatively easier than that of Samantha.

The trailer is said to be the main ingredient in the advertisement and promotions of a series. It is a trailer that either engages or distracts an audience towards the series. Well, if we talk about the trailer of “Citadel: Honey Bunny” it has the power to attract the audience, and to increase their curiosity and interest.
The action scenes in the trailer, and the mystery they create by first showing the leads together, and at the end we see the male protagonist saying the female lead, that “She should have never been made a part of the family.” It is enough to create a curiosity in the audiences’ head as to why did he say so? Where they together ever?
Also, in the trailer we see a child whom her mother is trying to protect. This also creates a curiosity as to who the child is and how is she related. The trailer is a full package of action scenes, showing the female lead firing with two guns at a time, which is an unexpected action in Bollywood.

Much information about the budget of this upcoming movie hasn’t been shared yet. However, through the amazing action scenes, outstanding visuals, inclusion of famous Bollywood stars, and most importantly, the attempt to match the actual Citadel series, makes it obvious for this Indian version to have a huge budget, enough for a perfect action.
By the way, the budget for the Priyanka Chopra Jonas starrer TV series Citadel (2023), which had only six episodes, was whopping $300 million. So, the budget for its Indian spin-off is also going to be quite humongous.
