The real question, however, is whether we are in CTRL of our emotions, or are our emotions and life in control of us? “Are you in control?” reads the caption of the upcoming Bollywood cyber-thriller movie Ctrl, set to release on Netflix on October 4th, 2024.
The plot of the film revolves around a perfect influencer couple, Nella and Joe who were famous all over the internet until Joe cheats on her. Letting her intrusive thoughts win after this, Nella turns up to an AI app and commands it to erase Joe from her life. She was unaware of the upcoming consequences, until Joe goes missing and people start questioning her about his absence. On approaching the AI and telling it that Joe was missing, it says, “Isn’t this what you wanted.”
