South Korea is known worldwide for its soft power, a significant part of which is its entertainment industry. We are all familiar with the world-famous K-pop bands BTS and BLACKPINK. Similarly, South Korean films and television series have made their mark globally. To add to this legacy, a new television series called The Tyrant is coming to Disney+ on August 14.
This action-packed TV series, The Tyrant, promises to have an incredible storyline. In the series, the South Korean government is trying to create a bio-weapon that can enhance human abilities. However, as soon as the US government learns about this project, it immediately orders it to be terminated and all related documents to be handed over to the US. After the project is dismantled, a sample of the bio-weapon was to be given to the US, but before that could happen, an unknown assailant made it disappear. The Tyrant is the story of recovering this bio-weapon, where both US and South Korean agencies are struggling to obtain this dangerous weapon.

Conclusion
We have already seen how strong South Korea’s film industry has become worldwide, with a prime example being the 2019 film Parasite. It won the Best Picture award at the 92nd Academy Awards (Oscars) and received many other awards and nominations.
Given this, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that, just like in their films, the same brilliance in content can be expected from this country’s TV series as well.
