The plot of the movie is about a family that consists of a mother and her two sons living in a house, trying to protect themselves from the “Evil” that is believed to be in the woods around them.
The family is surrounded by thick woods, and according to matriarchy it is said that the woods, if exposed to either of the family members would infect them. Thus, to protect themselves, the mother and the kids have to always tie a thick rope around themselves, whenever they leave the house. And the only mantra they believe in, is to “Never Let Go”. This not only signifies to not letting go of the ropes, but also tries to portray the strong family bond and protectiveness.
